Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO), a leading global information technology, consulting and business process services company announced its collaboration with Bluware Corp., the digital platform that enables the energy industry to accelerate digital transformation initiatives and adopt cloud computing for subsurface data. The partnership helps enable mass ingestion of SEG-Y data from tapes and data centers to Bluware OpenVDS™ into the cloud on The OSDU™ Data Platform.
Joining the alliance is Resolve Geosciences, Inc., a company that equips seismic data managers with powerful tools to define, analyze, and QC seismic data quickly and effectively.
The new end-to-end solution ingests, inspects, and converts data to OpenVDS, and compresses it to cloud storage or an OSDU repository enabling data rich decision making for Energy organizations. Geoscience teams can derive immediate value by automatic integration with existing applications while data managers and scientists can easily incorporate the data into their respective environments using APIs.
Wipro is a Microsoft Azure implementation and development partner for the OSDU Data Platform. The company’s deep domain expertise in the energy value chain across upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas backed by strong capabilities in new and emerging technologies helps enable upstream businesses to accelerate their digital transformation goals and adopt new disruptive technologies. Wipro is enabling and integrating technologies, such as those developed by Bluware and Resolve Geosciences, to help operators migrate their data into The OSDU Data Platform and integrate it into their day-to-day production workflows.
Paul de Jager, OSDU Practice Head at Wipro Limited said, “Wipro is committed to building an ecosystem of technology partners and industry solutions to enable operators to accelerate their digital transformation with cloud native end-to-end workflows built on OSDU™ Data Platform principles and architecture. The strategic partnership with Bluware and ResolveGeo helps bring advanced seismic ingestion, quality control, storage and distribution components to our customers.”
“This collaboration is equipping the industry with a solution that tackles the data issues that have stifled innovation in geophysics computing, resulting in an opportunity to finally standardize on a seismic format that not only stores data, but one that delivers usable data to applications via APIs. With an open-source format and industry proven compression available for free, this is a significant step forward for the energy sector,” stated Dan Piette, CEO at Bluware.
