The extreme strain on IT during COVID-19 has exposed every IT organization’s unique breaking point. Market research says that Microsoft and AWS cloud businesses are thriving even as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused other industries around the world to come to a grinding halt. Businesses are now at a stage where their choice of cloud computing model is vital to their long-term sustainability and profitability. The pandemic has reiterated how a flexible cloud deployment strategy is critical to enable enterprises to be agile and adaptable with their workloads, processes, and the support they can give to the remote workforce.
For many Technology organizations, particularly outside highly regulated industries, where private cloud is often a prerequisite for product incubation, cloud services will need to be rationalized. In the rush to adopt new cloud models, customers should not lose sight of business processes, which is the primary reason for change in the first place. Organizations that have adopted cloud with a larger footprint as well as those that have adopted cloud partially need to redefine their adoption strategies. A single zone or single cloud platform adoption for any organization is no more a sustained model to handle this kind of disruption. Hence, the larger footprint in the DC needs to move to a resilience cloud model and a Hybrid model can accelerate that journey along with moderate cost of scaling.
AWS, Azure, and Google now have absolute offerings to support the Hybrid model. AWS Outpost, Azure Arc, and Google Anthos are good options to consider if you intend to build the best Hybrid model. While these options live in the enterprise’s datacenter, moving the current workload to the respective cloud platforms is just a click away. Enterprises can protect their investment with these options and still achieve the required change to support an uninterrupted business model for their end-customers. Also, the security aspect can be handled better while we explore these options.
At Wipro, we have BLE / BLCP and Cloud studio to support these customer journeys. Our platform and frameworks can accelerate a customer’s journey with reduced cost but higher accuracy.
