Pulling Back the Curtain: Understanding your Core Business Goals

Wipro and AWS featured at GDS Digital Innovation Summit

Wipro and AWS joined forces with more than 80 attendees at a Digital Innovation Summit, hosted by GDS. Senior leaders from both organizations had the opportunity to lead a discussion with senior executives from lead-edge companies in various industries to understand their perspectives on digital innovation and the role it plays in the execution of core business goals.

From manufacturing to retail, diverse perspectives were presented during the roundtable. Despite the diversity of the group, key themes were uncovered:

• Digital transformation has become more critical and accelerated during the pandemic
• Business and IT collaboration is necessary to realize the full benefits of transformation.
• Full-scale digital adoption requires detailed, upfront planning to gain executive buy-in and a place on the company roadmap
• For most organizations, customer-centric strategies are being more rapidly prioritized, to satisfy increasing demands for improved user experiences

Overall, the roundtable participants were eager to provide their insights and lessons learned with the other participants around all aspects of digital transformation. For some businesses, the pandemic was a welcomed period to evaluate and shift priorities regarding major projects for the year, while some struggled to find their footing in the post-pandemic landscape. One thing is for certain - the pandemic has presented a new set of challenges and opportunities but has rapidly moved all organizations one step closer to digital modernization, if they haven’t moved already.
