Wipro’s B2B integration and Cloud hosted services drive 37% savings
Client background
Challenge
The leading hi-tech manufacturing company was part of a conglomerate firm but not after the latter went through a major corporate restructuring. This significant regrouping process required the hi-tech manufacturing major to do away with the existing shared environment and dependencies on the other units of the conglomerate firm. Frequent unavailability of the existing on-premise legacy B2Bi application was also becoming a serious concern as it was to manage over 700 trading partners. Frequent downtime (service availability was only 94.5%) of the on-premise legacy platform was affecting business continuity and causing delays in onboarding new trading partners.
The variation in the client’s business volume due to seasonality required the platform to support infrastructure scalability - the capability which was missing. As a result, there was lack of flexibility to incorporate new changes set up by client’s enterprise architecture group. The client was looking for a technology partner who could help migrate their applications to a Cloud-based B2Bi platform for smoother operations and eventual cost savings.
Solution
Wipro has built a new B2Bi platform for the client in a dedicated AWS Cloud environment and established seamless connectivity for all its upstream and downstream applications with the new SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite.
Business impact
The new B2Bi platform handles over $120 billion worth of orders per year coming from 700 trading partners and supports over 7.5 million files and 20 million transactions per month via 1200 technical connections.
“Wipro partnered with a leading hi-tech manufacturing company in its migration journey from an on-premise, shared platform to a new Cloud-based B2Bi platform. This engagement resulted in substantial savings for the client in terms of time and efforts when onboarding their partners. The platform provides both high-level and granular monitoring to the client, along with improved service availability.”
