Wipro has been positioned by HFS in its report ranking the Top 10 Cybersecurity Service Providers for 2022. The report, released in July, assessed how well service providers help their enterprise clients effectively improve their cybersecurity posture.

Organization: Wipro organized its business into four strategic market unit (SMUs) and two global business lines (GBLs). The four SMUs are Americas 1, Americas 2, Europe, and Asia Pacific Middle East Africa (APMEA). While Americas 1 and Americas 2 are organized by sectors, Europe and APMEA are structured by countries. Led by and SVP who is part of the Wipro Executive Committee, Cybersecurity & Risk Services (CRS) is a global practice positioned under a global business unit; it addresses customer needs across the four SMUs. Each SMU a corresponding go-to market leader for cybersecurity and risk services.
Growth: Wipro’s growth strategy is organic and inorganic, focusing on business model shift (to increase consultive services, advisory, and strategy first services), acquisition of niche best-in-class security providers (to scale up regional consulting capability) IP development (to strengthen and grow platform solution and IP), and cybersecurity services integration (build one integrated CRS model). Wipro’s fastest-growing service areas are cloud and infrastructure security, digital trust offerings (identity and access management and OT/IoT security), security and risk advisory (third-party risk management), and security intelligence and analytics powered by automated and intelligent managed detection and response (MDR), Wipro’s cybersecurity services contributed 8% of overall revenue in 2021 and has grown by more than 40% over the past three years, reaching $706 million in 2021. Almost one-third of cybersecurity revenues comes from maintenance and support services (managed security operations). The total dedicated headcount grew up by 3% from 2019 to 2021, reaching 8,600+ practitioners by the end of 2021. About 5% of total cybersecurity services revenue is reinvested into R&D.

Outcomes: Wipro offers C-Level advisory services, such as KPI for Board Reporting, to help organizations define and quantify the ROI of their cybersecurity initiatives. Most advisory services are followed through with build and operate engagements showcasing reduced risk indices and cost optimization.
