Business challenge

The client has their business in the North Americas and operates through two channels, viz: the dealer and the fleet companies. They had a mix and match of different applications and technologies to cover their sales processes. The challenges arising out of such a potpourri of applications and technologies were on the following lines:

Varied business processes in different regions within USA presented varied customer experience
Data retrieval process limitations presented lag in the data availability to the sales representatives resulting in inaccurate presentation of data to the customers. Real time decision making was not possible
Monitoring the actual sales versus the forecast was difficult and time consuming
Different databases for the dealer and fleet sales presented challenges in consolidation and maintenance
 
Wipro solution

Our solution was based on Siebel e-Automotive 7.0.4 industry solution and encompassed the implementation of sales functionality, account management, opportunity and contact management. It comprised the business rule automation provided by Siebel workflow manager, integration with applications supporting order receipts, production planning, and delivery information.

 
The benefits
The business processes across the fleet and dealer organizations were streamlined following implementation of Siebel.
The uniformity and consistency that the customers experienced enhanced the credibility of the sales force.
The ready availability of order and shipping data on users laptops greatly helped them in their customer interactions.
Improved business processes using workflow's
Configuring two distinct Siebel applications (for dealer and fleet sales) on the same code base helped customer optimize the operations and maintenance of the Siebel applications.
Strict adherence to quality processes and procedures reduced chances of re-work, ensured availability of required documentation and knowledge sharing and quality of the delivered application.
The offshore delivery model ensured quick turn-around time with low costs
